With a bespoke design and a unique feel, Oaklands is a truly magnificent space, both in its design, interiors and amenities. This modern ‘passivhaus’ home has been singled out for its minimal environmental footprint and its exceptionally high standard of sustainability, both in the materials used to build it as well as its solar panel roof, ground source heating and the way it runs today.

About the property

With a wood-fired hot tub, steam room, home gym, BBQ, a pizza oven, and plenty of space for you to relax and unwind, it’s a truly incredible haven away from the hustle a bustle of city life. We’re also dog-friendly so your four-legged friends can come and bask in the stylish countryside.

KITCHEN/DINING ROOM

The open plan kitchen/dining room/living area is a large open space perfect for family and friends to come together. Equipped with two high-spec ovens, a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer and a full range of kitchen supplies, it’s got everything you could need for a delicious home-cooked meal.

LIVING SPACE

Accessed through the kitchen is the second living room which features a large smart TV and plenty of seating for you and your guests.

UTILITY ROOM

The utility room is located downstairs and features both a washing machine and tumble dryer.

OFFICE

Should you need to catch up on those all important emails while staying then we have the perfect office space for you to do so. With a large desk, a comfortable office chair and even a large built-in fish tank, you’ll have a tranquil environment to work from.

Please note that the fish tank is set on an auto timer so the fish are fed at certain times of the day, please do not try to feed the fish.

GARAGE CONVERSION

Outside is the garage which has been converted into a unique chill out space/games room! Here you will find a ping-pong table, a pool & air hockey table and a large TV ready to watch all of your favourite shows.

There is the ability to connect and X-Box/games console but we do not provide one. You’re welcome to bring your own with you.

There is also a mini kitchenette and bar for you.

BEDROOM 1

Bedroom 1 is located on the ground floor and features a double bed and plenty of storage for your belongings.

BEDROOM 2

Bedroom 2 features a super-king sized bed adorned in crisp white linen and a stunning view of the garden and surrounding greenery.

Note: upon request this bed can be split into 2 singles, please let us know if you would like us to do this ahead of your stay.

BEDROOM 3

Bedroom 3 features zip and link beds so can either be made into 2 single beds or 1 king bed. Please let us know how you would like the beds made up ahead of your stay.

BEDROOM 4

Bedroom 4 is located at the other end of the upstairs and features a zip and link bed which can either be made into 2x single beds or a super king bed. Please let us know how you would like the beds made up prior to your stay.

Bedroom 4 also features its own en-suite shower room with a WC and basin.

BEDROOM 5

Bedroom 5 is the master bedroom and is located at the other end of the hall. With a stand alone bath and private bathroom, as well as a comfortable king-sized beds and stunning views of the surrounding countryside, it’s the most luxury room in the house.

*All bedrooms and bathrooms apart from one are located on the first floor, only accessible by stairs.

BATHROOMS

Bathroom 1 is also located on the ground floor and features a walk in shower, WC and basin.

Bathroom 2 is nestled between bedrooms 2 and 3 and features a bathtub, WC and basin. Fluffy white towels are included for your stay.

GYM

The house features a home gym with a treadmill, bench and dumbbells, you’re welcome to use the gym and equipment during your stay.

STEAM ROOM

Another little luxury offered in this incredible house is a steam room. Instructions for use can be found in the guest house manual.

GARDEN

The garden features a blend of patio and greenery, with outdoor furniture so you can enjoy the warmer evenings alfresco style! But the real star of the show is the breath-taking view, overlooking acres of the rolling hills and stunning valleys of Somerset.

MANAGED LOCALLY

The house is hosted by Chris who takes care of the day to day management. Chris is based locally and always on hand to help.

PARKING

There is parking outside of the house.

PLEASE NOTE

You will have sole access to the house, garage conversion and outdoor area for the entirety of your stay.

The location

Set among unspoilt parkland in the heart of somerset, it’s the ultimate modern yet rural retreat. Just a 10-minute drive will get you to the heritage town of Frome, a beautiful village offering independent shops and delicious restaurants.

Also 10 minutes away is Longleat Safari Park.

A car is advised for transport and visiting the local area and beyond.
