The Ultimate Bath Bucket List for 2022
As one of the UK’s most popular tourist destinations, Bath has an ever-growing list of sites, attractions and to-dos to entertain visitors. We know Bath like the back of our hand and have constructed the ultimate Bath Bucket List to help you maximise your time in Bath. Below is an insider’s guide to some of Bath’s most iconic landmarks, as well as some secret spots to help you experience Bath in all its glory!
Secret Spots
The Little Theatre
The Little Theatre in Bath is a unique blend of the old and new. It is a much-loved favourite for watching new releases, cult classics and cultural screenings. In spite of recent renovations to keep it up to date with the latest digital sound and projection technology, The Little Theatre maintains its vintage aesthetic by retaining some original features of a 1930s theatre. This endearing and unique little gem of a cinema is definitely a must-visit during your time in Bath.
Secret Thermal Baths
We all know the Thermae Bath Spas are an absolute must-visit when in Bath… But just across the street is a more exclusive and secret Thermal Bath available for small groups to enjoy. The Cross Bath is on the site of a secluded Celtic Shrine, dedicated to the Goddess Sul, and is now recognised as a sacred site. The Cross Bath can be booked exclusively for small parties of up to 10 people and is one of Bath’s best kept secrets … we only found out about it this year!
Bath Skyline Walk
If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the buzzing city during your stay, then escape to the country and walk the Bath Skyline. Surround yourself with the chirping of birds, the rainbow of flowers and the buzzing of wildlife as you experience Bath from new perspectives on this elevated 6 mile trail through woodlands and castle ruins!
Alexandra Park
Speaking of seeing Bath from new perspectives, you have to take a trip to Alexandra Park. This stunning viewpoint offers uninterrupted panoramic views of the beautiful honey-coloured buildings of Bath! It is quite a steep climb up the hill so it is up to you whether you drive, cycle, run or walk to the top. Once at the top, there is a play area, a choux pastry van and lots of greenery and benches to enjoy a picnic!
And now for some more renowned bucket-list experiences in Bath. Although it’s fun seeking out the secret spots when in a new City, here are a few firm favourites that keep tourists coming back….
Thermae Bath Spa
The Thermae Bath Spa is Britain’s only natural thermal spa and benefits from the same mineral-rich bubbling water that the Romans and Celts enjoyed over 2000 years ago. Containing over 42 different minerals, you will come out of the spas feeling fresh, rejuvenated and your skin smoother than ever! Make sure to take a dip in the rooftop pool overlooking the city skyline and rolling hills of Somerset to get that ‘King of the world’ feeling.
Roman Baths
Your trip to Bath wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the namesake Roman Baths – one of the best-preserved examples of Roman remains outside of Rome. With audio-guides for kids and fun activities along the way, it’s a fantastic day out for the whole family.
Bath Abbey
Upon entering Bath Abbey, you feel like you have been transported to another world. Encompassed by the sounds of choir singing, warmed by the glow of candles, and amazed at the wonder of the stunning architecture within, Bath Abbey is a moment of quietness in the heart of a bustling City.
